Feelings: Like being a Goth teenager with all the energy of youth mixed with the wisdom of some years of true darkness.

A bag of beautiful mid darkness. Sometimes in life you have to embrace the chaos and run with the darkness. And oh my how sweet the darkness is. Its got plenty of oomph and bass, but the sweet high notes aren't burnt or flat. It's a ridiculously sweet dark chocolate candied apple party in your mouth. No bitterness, not burnt, just enough warmly developed muscovado like sugars and a glorious mouthfeel.

This is a newly dialed in deeper roast of our El Socorro, Red Bourbon from Guatemala. The ultra high elevation, excellent cherry picking and immaculate processing that is Diego's hallmark makes this coffee a beautiful dark chocolate cherry confection.

We have been working with Juan Diego since 2009. El Socorro is one of the most award winning fincas in all of Guatemala and is a coffee farm of unsurpassable beauty in the highlands of Central Guatemala roughly 50 kilometers from Guatemala City. El Socorro’s prized coffees are a result of its high altitude location combined with University trained agronomist Juan Diego’s great attention to detail. He has spurred the farm's focus on quality coffee production with advanced processing techniques including warm water fermentation, which speeds up the fermentation process. In this shorter period of fermentation, the coffee grain keeps its density & maintains the coffee's components intact.

Nicely dark, but not bitter

Really liked this coffee. It was dark and fudge and not at all bitter or burnt. Went great with my oat milk.
